A Nice Small Station

I was in Rutherford New Jersey, last week and was pleasantly surprised by the old station, built in 1897 by the Erie Railroad and still in use next to the modern platforms. It’s on the National Register and was restored about ten years ago, so good news all around.

Here’s the platform on the outbound side, across from the old station:

That’s Billionaire’s Row on the far left, next to the lamppost; One Vanderbilt directly above the “Greatest Show in Bourbon” ad; the Empire State Building almost hidden by the power-line pole above the purple NJ Transit ad; and Hudon Yards on the right.
