That bucolic scene is not what most people think of when they hear “the Bronx” but that is where it is. A slightly foggy morning last week.
Per yesterday’s discussion of density, the Bronx has roughly 35,000 people per square mile, against Manhattan’s 73,000, the US weighted urban density of 6321, and the US metropolitan area overall average of 283. So The Bronx is a more “urban” urban environment than pretty much anything in the US, but thankfully it also includes Van Cortland Park’s trees and fields.
