A Pleasant Surprise

The picture above, by Doug Kerr (Dougtone at https://www.flickr.com/photos/7327243@N05/5336918075.), shows the train Station in Utica New York. Most of the old upstate train stations were abandoned in the between 1965 and 1985, so it’s always nice to see one intact. The old waiting room is now partly used for local government functions, which seems like a good adaptive reuse for a space that’s far larger and grander than current train travel demands.
