It Looked Familiar: Mass Transit

The comic panel above is from “The Riddler: Year One” which is basically an extension of the story told in the recent movie The Batman. That might look like a generic subway station, but it’s recognizably the Broadway Line (N/Q/R) at Times Square. It’s an express stop, with two pairs of tracks, each with a platform between the pair. More importantly, it’s someplace you can transfer from this train to the Seventh Avenue Line (the red circles on the sign are the 1/2/3 trains), the Eighth Avenue Line (the blue circles are the A/C/E trains) and the Flushing Line (the purple circle is the 7 train). There’s only one station where those lines meet, and if we’re not on the platform for any of them, we have to be on the only other platform there, the Broadway line.
