I’ll probably talk about this project more in the future, but seeing that it just started, I’m going to have a movie-style trailer consisting of a single photo:

That’s roof framing at the Hopewell Furnace, an early-1800s ironworks in Pennsylvania. (Note that this is a reconstruction from the 1960s, but one that to my knowledge closely follows the original.) The rafters are just crudely-trimmed logs, but the three-dimensional complexity of the girders and bracing is impressive. I can’t wait to start documenting that.
