The Staten Island ferries have an outer corridor on each side that can be open to the weather or enclosed, depending on the season. I was riding inside, on the main deck, looking outward through the (badly scarred) plexiglass windows separating the interior from the corridor, as the boat passed the Statue of Liberty.
