Pretty much everything I write about in this blog is in some way linked to the built environment, but not everything is of equal seriousness. I hope that even when I’m writing about a frivolous topic, like pizza boxes, I do so in a way that is at least interesting to read.
Last May, I published a blog post on the Tartarian Empire, a modern myth about a lost, technologically-advanced nation that left weird architectural artifacts around the globe. The topic amused me, particularly since I’m familiar with the history of some of the buildings supposedly built by the Tartarians. In any case, unlike the majority of my blog posts, which are read for a few days before disappearing into obscurity, this one seems to be gaining in popularity. It was the most read blog post on our site for the month of August, second only to our home page:

If you google “the Tartarian Empire”, my blog post is on the third page of results, so I find it hard to believe that’s how people are getting to it. My two pet theories are that (1) some Tartarian fan site has a link to the blog post or (2) some of our regular readers are secret conspiracy-theory fans and/or haters.
