While this blog usually discusses interesting facts concerning the built environment, and observations thereof, this is a personal piece about a loss. William Stivale, a program director for major religious-property restoration projects in New York City and the tri-state area, passed away peacefully in hospice after battling Parkinson’s disease for the past three years. His wife, Marie Ennis, will have a memorial service and celebration of life later this year in Manhattan. In lieu of flowers or cards, please consider a donation to the New York Landmarks Conservancy Sacred Sites Program in Bill’s name: donate here
