This is the 3333rd blog post published on the Old Structures web site. People are attracted to round numbers, and I could just as easily have waited for the 4000th post to say something, but I like the “third of ten-thousand” aspect of the current number.

Some housekeeping: some blog posts have been removed as obsolete so if you decide to start at the beginning and read all of then, don’t blame me that the count will be off. (Actually, if you do that, don’t blame me for any of the possible outcomes.) Also, there has been some link rot, so the older posts may now link to dead air. And finally, some photos were lost in the update to the website last year, so some of the posts are now less clear, referencing illustrations that are no longer there. C’est la vie: we won’t be fixing the old posts. If you have a question about one of them email me.
Three thousand three hundred thirty three is a lot of blog posts. Fortunately, by writing about the New York built environment in general, I have a potentially infinite source of material. No promises, but I expect new posts to be showing up for a good while to come.
