The Library of Congress has this Detroit Publishing Company photo labelled as “Whitehall Buildings [sic] from Battery Park, New York.” Given that we’re seeing both the original 1904 Whitehall in front and the 1910 extension behind, I’m not sure what the [sic] refers to.
In any case, it looks like a nice day to sit on a park bench and read the newspaper, although the noise of the elevated trains (Sixth and Ninth Avenue in the distance, visible just to the left of the lamppost on the right; Second and Third Avenue on the South Ferry loop on the far right) may have lessened the enjoyment a bit.
