No work-work today, as I’m at the SEAoNY annual conference. I have friends and family who travel to Paris, Rome, or Tokyo for conferences; I’m headed to West 42nd Street.
This year’s theme is quite broad, so the talks will be on varying topics, which is fine with me. Unless the topic is one I’m intensely interested in, listening to an entire day’s worth of presentations on a single topic is mind-numbing. Honestly, even if the topic is one I’m intensely interested in, listening to an entire day’s worth of presentations on a single topic is mind-numbing.
While it’s true that a lot of people will be at the conference to get those precious precious continuing-education hours, getting a wide cross-section of the profession together once a year is not a bad thing at all.
