Smoke ‘Em If You Got ‘Em

I showed an example once before of (UK-based) Wills’s Cigarettes using an American skyscraper for advertising. That was the Singer Building as an example of Famous Invention No. 36: Steel-Frame Building. I probably should have guessed that Wills’s had other series of cards in their packs. Here’s Engineering Wonder No. 22: Building a “Skyscraper,” U.S.A:

At some point, the card got reprinted with the references to cigarettes scrubbed:

What building is that? I’m not sure. The details have been pretty well obliterated in the process of converting a photo to a crude line drawing to a pixelated print. It reminds me very much of this 1902 photo of the Flatiron Building under construction, particularly if you flip the photo right-for-left:

Note the curved corner in the drawing and the curved north end of the Flatiron’s triangular shape, and the masonry surrounding the main entrance half-way along the diagonal facade. But it could just as easily be based on some other photo that I’m not familiar with.
