It Looked Familiar: A Lot Of Facade Repair

In Fantastic Four: First Steps, Galactus¹ comes to New York² by splashing down in the harbor and climbing up onto land at the foot of Manhattan:

That’s his traditional appearance in the comics³ and he’s straightening up to a standing position with his right foot in Battery Park, his left foot on Battery Place, and he’s pushing up with his left hand off of 17 Battery Place – the Whitehall Building – to stand up. Following this shot, we see that him using the building for leverage caused a lot of damage to the brick facade. Marvel’s movies have been tough on buildings in New York, most especially The Avengers, where it seemed like half the buildings in Midtown would be filing for facade repairs.
